ARLINGTON — Steady rain and the threat for severe weather Wednesday night led to postponement of the Texas Rangers’ second home game this season.
They are set to play a doubleheader today against Baltimore beginning at 4:05 p.m. at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Tickets for today’s original game will be valid for both games, and tickets for Wednesday’s game can be exchanged for any game this season — including today’s.
Right-hander Kevin Millwood is scheduled the first game for the Rangers against Orioles righty Steve Trachsel. Kason Gabbard will start Game 2 in a lefty-lefty matchup against Adam Loewen.
The Rangers’ rotation will be a man short Monday, and manager Ron Washington said relievers Jamey Wright or Josh Rupe could get a spot start.

“We’ve got to wait until we get out of [today] to worry about that,” Washington said.
The doubleheader, which will be on KDFI/Ch. 27, could mean that all 13 Texas position players will get a start today.
Washington said Milton Bradley will be the designated hitter in the first game and possibly the right fielder in the second. Jason Botts will get his first start of the season at first base in the second game, when Josh Hamilton could be the DH after starting Game 1 in center field.
