Plenty of Fort Worth restaurants serve Sunday brunch, but what of the day's other culinary tradition — the Sunday supper?
Starting this Sunday, it'll be alive and well at Magnolia Avenue neighborhood bar Proper, which is launching a pop-up Sunday supper series with a rotation of chefs and live entertainment.
For the inaugural event, a6 6:30 p.m. Sunday, the chef will be Jen Williams, a Magnolia Avenue alumni who was executive chef at well-liked (and now-closed) Magnolia Cheese Company. For the past several months, she's been on the culinary team at Dallas' highly regarded Lucia.
Proper bartender-owner Lisa Little-Adams and Williams worked together on the menu, which features Williams' seasonal, contemporary food paired with Adams' craft cocktails or a glass of wine. The three-course menu will include salt cod with winter squash, truffled breadcrumbs and clove-pickled tomatoes; braised Texas lamb; and maple pecan meringue.
Full menu, with accompanying drinks, can be found here.
A cocktail reception will precede the dinner at 6:30, with dinner service beginning at 7. Proper is at 409 W. Magnolia Ave., east of the Magnolia-Hemphill intersection. Cost is $100 per person.
