Ron Formby, founder of Antares Homes, passed away on Nov. 1, 2014. On Nov. 14, 2014 he was inducted into the Texas Housing Hall of Honor.
Formby was a leader in the housing industry, where he served as President of the Greater Ft. Worth Builders Association in 1989. He also served as President of the Texas Association of Builders in 1993. He was on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Builders Association, he was Life Director for the National Association of Homebuilders and served as National Vice President of NAHB in 1995 and 1996. Ron attained many designations throughout his long career in the homebuilding industry. They include Certified Master Builder, Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Green Professional, Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and Master in Residential Marketing.
Formby believed in giving back to the industry and was recognized for his efforts throughout his career. He was named Builder of the Year by the Fort Worth Builders Association in 1985 and received the Herman J. Smith Legend Award in 1999. He received the Sanctity of Contract Award presented by Stewart Title Company in 2011.
The Dallas Builders Association presented Formby with the McSam Marketing Person of the Year in 1995. Ron was awarded the Oncor Energy Efficient Award presented by the Texas Association of Builders in 2007. The National Association of Builders Sales and Marketing Council inducted him into its “Lifetime Million Dollar Circle” on three occasions.

Formby was successful in leading sales teams of some of the largest builders in America to unprecedented growth in Texas, names such as Fox & Jacobs, Kaufman & Broad and Choice Homes.
He was survived by his wife, Pat and his son Chance Formby and wife, Rhonda Formby, daughter Kerry Parrish and son-in-law Randy Parrish, along with three grandchildren, Dash Formby, Haley and Payden Parrish.
