For the second time in just over a month, KDFW/Channel 4 is losing a weekend-morning personality with a "Jennifer" name, according to a report on Uncle Barky's Bytes, local-TV blogger Ed Bark's site.

Jennifer Myers, who mostly did weekend-morning weather but often filled in during other time slots and appeared during severe-weather situations, is leaving "to become the weathercaster for North Texas-based ONCOR Electric," Bark reports, citing "several sources."

A Fox spokeswoman confirmed the departure, saying that Myers' last day will be May 13.

Myers often appeared in tandem with weekend-morning anchor Jenny Anchondo, who left the station in March and quickly turned up on Tribune Broadcasting's "Morning Dose," which airs in several markets (including DFW, from 5 to 8 a.m. on KDAF/Channel 33), but is based in DFW.

When Anchondo announced her departure, she told viewers, "You’ve even adopted hundreds of animals from our off-the-rails pet segment!" Those pet segments featured Myers (who has continued doing them) and Anchondo cuddling sometimes willing, sometimes unruly animals on the anchor desk.

Myers has been with Fox 4 since 2012.

According to Bark, "Myers increasingly has bristled over a management mandate that she wear a straight-haired wig on the air to cover up her naturally curly hair," although he does not indicate whether that led to her departure. There is even a "Compel Fox 4 to Free Jen's Curls" Facebook Page.

Bark also reported this week that 19-year veteran Saul Garza, known for his "What's Bugging You" segments in which he reported on (and sometimes led to solving) consumer issues plaguing viewers, is leaving the station. Garza does not sound like he will miss the gig.

“I. AM. DONE. My contract ends May 31,” he told Bark. “For now that is my last day but hoping they cut me loose sooner. So, so excited to be done with news.” (The Fox spokeswoman also confirmed Garza's departure and the departure date.)

Along with this sudden burst of high-profile Fox 4 departures, CBS-11 anchor Kaley O'Kelley announced last week that she is leaving that station this month. Her last day will be May 23.
