Paris Coffee Shop near reopening in Fort Worth

Hey, Bud! What can you tell me about Paris Coffee Shop?

—Lots of readers

The 96-year-old restaurant will reopen around mid- to late May at 704 W. Magnolia Ave. A lot of the staff will be back. It’s remodeled with a sleek, retro look.

Some of the menu will be familiar, including the pies and chicken-fried steaks, and some will be new. It’ll serve dinner, too. Chef Lou Lambert took over with Mike Smith’s retirement. (By the way, go try Lambert’s craft barbecue Saturdays at Roy Pope Grocery, 2300 Merrick St.)

Lili’s, Fixture Kitchen also near reopening

Hey, Bud! When do those other restaurants on Magnolia Avenue reopen?

—Everybody who asked first about the Paris

Fixture Kitchen, 401 W. Magnolia Ave., and Lili’s Bistro, 1310 W. Magnolia Ave., both will reopen about mid-May after taking a short break for repairs, remodeling and restaffing. Look for more memorabilia at Lili’s from early Texas businesswoman Ninnie Baird (1869-1961) of Mrs Baird’s Bread.

Jon’s Grille to open in summer, with BBQ

Hey, Bud! Is the Jon’s Grille on Berry Street like the one that was on University?

—Reader at facebook.com/diningguy

Jon’s Grille, chef Jon Bonnell’s barbecue-and-burger grill opening in about a month at 2905 W. Berry St., has the same name as the late Jon Meyerson’s restaurant. But it’s completely different. The name is a tribute to Meyerson’s work building a burger legacy in what is now the Dutch’s Hamburgers space.
