Fort Worth locals who love Thai food say this restaurant is among the city’s best

Each week, we spotlight a "hidden-gem" restaurant in the Fort Worth area that you, our readers, recommend checking out.

These local, mom-and-pop restaurants may not be the biggest or fanciest in town. But the food is delicious, the service is friendly and the price is right.

  • What else to know:

Tuk Tuk Thai opened in 2016, as an offshoot of a popular Berkeley, Calif., restaurant run by the owner’s relative.

Some of us at the Star-Telegram love this place, too. This little gem is tucked in a strip center near UNT Health Science Center campus and is great for dining in or fast takeout.

The Siam noodle (or Khao Soi) that our readers recommend is egg noodles in a mild yellow curry broth with shrimp and chicken, topped with crispy noodles, red onion and a splash of lime. “Rich, warming, and full of Northern Thai flavor. A regional favorite from Chiang Mai,” the menu says.

The pad kra pao (sautéed garlic with bell pepper, onion & basil leaves) also is a favorite.

See the menu.

The hours are weekdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.; and Saturday, noon-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.
