If you've been to Shops at Clearfork, the upscale retail/restaurant center off of Chisholm Trail Parkway in southwest Fort Worth, you know two things: There are lots of restaurants there, and there is a movie theater that has been under construction for months.
This Wednesday, the movie theater will open. And it's also a restaurant.
AMC Dine-in Clearfork 8 will offer a menu of burgers, sandwiches, flatbreads, snacks and a few entrees, along with some desserts, available for delivery to your seat.
This is hardly a novel concept, of course. Studio Movie Grill, Movie Tavern, Alamo Drafthouse, Moviehouse & Eatery and many others do the delivery-to-your-seat thing. Considering AMC's long history, it's actually relatively new to a long-running movie-food game. (The Grapevine Mills 30 is also identified as a "Dine-In" theater. )

The concept can actually be a little problematic: You're eating in the dark (don't drop your fork!), and at some theaters, you have to settle your check while the movie's still going on (servers are trained to be as unobtrusive as possible, but still ...).
According to a release, menu items at the Clearfork location will include "Artisan Pepperoni Flatbread, Chicken Bacon Mac & Cheese, Southwest Chicken Bowl, Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders and the introduction to the new Build Your Own Burger concept, allowing guests the freedom to customize their meal their way."
The Clearfork location will also soon have a "MacGuffins bar, offering beer, wine and cocktails to enjoy before, during or after the movie."
The movie theater joins a crowded (and growing!) restaurant lineup at Shops at Clearfork, including Pinstripes, B&B Butchers, City Works, Cru Food & Wine Bar,Fixe Southern House, Malai Kitchen, NM Cafe, Rise nº3, Twigs Bistro and Luna Grill. Not to mention desserty places like Joy Macarons and Amorino Gelato.
Oh, yeah -- the theater will show movies, too! The opening lineup: "Deadpool 2," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Life of the Party," "Book Club" and "I Feel Pretty." "Solo: A Star Wars Story" will start Thursday night. All viewable from "plush, power-recliner seating."
