Here are some of the Cinco de Mayo parties happening in DFW this weekend

Cinco de Mayo is on a Sunday this year and for those who can survive the Kentucky Derby events on Saturday, there is a nice offering of parties for what will end up being one of the biggest party weekends of the year in DFW.

Here is a sampling of some of the bigger Cinco de Mayo parties:


Varsity Tavern will celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Sunday with drink specials including $4 Modelo, Corona, Dos Equis, Pacifico, Tecate drafts, $5 frozen Cazadores margaritas, $7 Patron margaritas and more. The party will feature Luche Libre wrestlers and $2 tacos all weekend. 1005 Norwood St., Fort Worth.

The Yard will host its Cinco de Mayo party on Sunday highlighted with a prize giveaway of a free trip to Mexico. The party will include a live mariachi, pinatas, face painters, margaritas, tacos, drink specials, tamales, sopapillas and live music. The Mexico trip will be given away at 9 p.m. and the winner must be present to win the prize. 3017 Morton St., Fort Worth.

Hooky Bar will have a Cinco de Mayo party with $3 Sol beer, $4 Corona, Dos Equis and Modelo, $5 El Jimador tequila shots, $7 Patron and Herrudara margaritas and shots on Saturday and Sunday. 2800 Bledsoe St., Fort Worth.

Landmark Bar & Kitchen will host the “Biggest Cinco de Mayo Party in Ft. Worth” on Sunday with specials including $2 tacos, $4 Dos Equis, $5 Sauza margaritas, live mariachi and live music beginning at 7 p.m. There will also be a Mexico trip giveaway. 3008 Bledsoe St., Fort Worth.

BAR 2909 will have its Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday when they host Mexico’s version of professional wrestling Lucha Libre. There will also be drink specials and food trucks on site. The event is 4-9 p.m. 2909 Morton St., Fort Worth.

Texas Republic Bar & Kitchen will have its Cinco de Mayo party on its rooftop patio with specials on tequila, a live DJ, $2 tacos and $4 Paleta shots. The party is Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. 945 Foch St., Fort Worth.

Bar Louie will have a weekend-long bash for Cinco de Mayo with its Cabo De Mayo Weekend featuring Sammy Hagar’s Santo Mezquila. Specials include $5 Modelo, $5 Cinco Ritas, $5 Santo Mezquila shots and two tacos for $5 featuring their new Louie’s Philly Cheesesteak taco and Sammy’s Red Rockin’ Buffalo Chicken Taco. Chuy’s will host Cinco de Chuy’s for its weekend-long celebration. Specials start on Friday with $1 floaters and continue on Saturday with $1 floaters and $1 off Perfect Margaritas. Sunday has $1 floaters, $1 off Perfect Margaritas, $5 regular house ritas, $8 grande house ritas, $1 off Dos Equis and $5 queso or guacamole. 2401 West 7th St., Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Tacos and Margs Crawl is Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. at Landmark. Other participating bars include Varsity Tavern, BAR 2909, Hooky, Texas Republic, Kung Fu Saloon, The Yard, America Gardens and Bodega W. 7th. Studio Eighty will have its Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday night with free sombreros for the first 100 ladies, $100 cash prize taco eating contest, $100 cash prize crazy sombrero contest, and half off all tequila. 500 Taylor St.


Texas Live! will celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Sunday with its Cinco de Rita party that will have margaritas and music. Each bar inside the Arlington Backyard will feature a different margarita. You get a souvenir glass to go around to each bar and get a sample before returning to your favorite spot for a full glass. The event is 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $15 at 1650 E. Randol Mill Rd., Arlington.


Happiest Hour in the Harwood District will host the Cinco de Mayo Ultimate Fiesta on Sunday beginning at 11:30 a.m. $7 Altos Tequila USA Margaritas (frozen & on the rocks) Pick your flavor: classic, hibiscus, or strawberry, $8 Tequila Avion Tequila Shots, $5 Corona Premier Draft and $25 Corona Buckets. 2616 Olive St., Dallas.

The Rustic in Uptown will have its Cinco de Mayo party that kicks off with family-style Jam & Toast Brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then from 3 p.m. to close, they are serving up their signature tacos & tequilas (a curated selection of our tacos and premium tequilas). Live music begins at 12:30 p.m. Event is free. 3656 Howell St., Dallas.

Vidorra has partnered with Patron and Cazadores for its Cinco de Mayo party. Saturday brunch and dinner will be served as normal, plus a DJ from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. On Sunday, food specials include $2 street tacos and $5 margaritas. There will also be a DJ on deck from 3-7 p.m., a mariachi band performing from 6-9 p.m., and they will also have a ‘donkey’ on site from 2 p.m. - 6pm, serving shots and for photo opps. 2642 Main St., Dallas.

Trinity Groves will have the Tacos & Tequila Walk in celebration of Cinco de Mayo on Friday evening. The event gives people the chance to walk in and out of side-by-side restaurants and shops at Trinity Groves, where 12 different concepts will create their own versions of tacos and tequila cocktails. Every participating restaurant will offer a special taco and tequila cocktail for $10 total, neither of which you can get at any other time at Trinity Groves. The event is from 6-10 p.m. with an after party at at Babbs BBQ until 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 at 3011 Gulden Ln., Dallas.


Shakertinis will celebrate all weekend beginning on Saturday with its Kentucky Derby Sombrero Party. Sunday will be the Cinco at Shaketins party where they have teamed up with Cazadores Tequila for a huge bash that will feature a live karaoke mariachi band, a Cazadores Margarita Fountain, giveaways, decorations and DJ JUICE spinning at 8 p.m. 6910 Windhaven #101, The Colony.

Legacy Hall will have a weekend-long Cinco de Mayo celebration beginning on Saturday at 1 p.m. with live music until 10 p.m. when a live DJ takes over. They will also show the Kentucky Derby.
