After a weekend of Halloween parties, some DFW clubs are celebrating on the big night

Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year, and a lot of places have already done their celebrating. But some DFW clubs are waiting for the big night (or the night before it) for their Halloween bashes. And there is still much partying to be done.


Arlington Backyard, the concert venue at the new Texas Live! complex near Globe Life Park, will celebrate Halloween Night with a concert by Dada Life and Elephante. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15-$20 and the event is ages 18 and up. 1650 East Randol Mill Road Suite 140, Arlington

The Flying Saucer in Sundance Square will host “Movie Night” on Oct. 31 with a screening of the original 1978 classic “Halloween” starring Jamie Lee Curtis. The movie starts at 9 p.m. 111 E. Third St., Fort Worth.

Fox & Hound in Cityview will host “An Oozy Boozy Halloween Party at Fox & Hound” beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 30. There will be prizes for individual and couples costume contests. Drink specials include $2 domestic drafts, $3 craft and import drafts and $5 Oozy Boozy Cocktail. 6051 SW Loop 820 Suite 322, Fort Worth.

Hooky in the West 7th area will have a Charity Happy Hour/Toy Drive for the Fort Worth Margarita Ball on Oct. 30. The event and this will have a Halloween twist, including a costume contest (prize is two tickets to the Margarita Ball with Celebration Lounge Passes). Bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $25 and receive two complimentary raffles ticket for a few chances to win one of two pairs of Margarita Ball tickets. Houston Street Bar & Patio will host “Houston St. Skaryoke” on Oct. 31 with karaoke beginning at 10 p.m. There will be hourly shot specials and prizes for performance and costumes. 902 Houston St., Fort Worth

Texas Republic Bar & Kitchen n the West 7th area will host the Texas Republic Halloween Bash on Oct. 31 with a $3,000 costume contest. Drink specials include $3 shots, $4 Tito’s and $200 Tito’s bottles. VIP bottle service is available. 945 Foch St., Fort Worth.

Varsity Tavern in the West 7th corridor will have Halloween night party with the theme “Dead Celebrities.” 1005 Norwood St., Fort Worth

The Winchester Tavern will throw its one-year anniversary party Oct. 31 with a costume contest with $100 cash prizes for the categories of sexiest, scariest, and best couple. There will also be food and entertainment provided. 903 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth

DALLAS and more

Candleroom has long been the place to see and be seen on Wednesday nights in Dallas; with Halloween taking place on a Wednesday this year, this will likely be one of the hottest parties in DFW. This year’s event is called the “Twisted Circus Halloween Wednesday” and will feature sounds by John Freezy and DJ Marvel (Michael Jimenez). No cover and complimentary valet. Klyde Warren Park is the site for “Decks in the Park” beginning at 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Expect a huge turnout for this event that also features an after-party starting at 10 p.m. at the Savor Gastropub (tickets are available to the after-party at Entertainment will be provided by more than 10 DJs. . 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas.

Lava Cantina will host a Halloween Costume Party and “Rocky Horror Picture Show” screening. There will be a $1,000 costume contest with categories for Funniest, Scariest and the grand prize for Best Overall. No cover. 5805 Grandscape Blvd., The Colony

The Rustic in Uptown will have a “Spinning Thru the Decades” time-travel Halloween party on Oct. 31. The party begins at 7 p.m. with ‘70s music for an hour, then on to ‘80s music in the 8 p.m. hour, all the way to modern music beginning at 11 p.m. Dressing for your favorite decade is encouraged. 3656 Howell St., Dallas

Sundown at Granada will host its Halloween Party on Oct. 31, featuring two screenings of the movie “Hocus Pocus” on the rooftop patio. There will also be entertainment by DJ Mel Behaved. Party starts at 7 p.m. and is free for 21 and up. 3520 Greenville Ave., Dallas

2513 Deep Ellum will host “The Throwback ‘90s Halloween Party” on Oct. 31. The party is described as “TRL meets YO! MTV Raps meets Pop Up Video” and ‘90s attire is encouraged. Tickets are free before 10 p.m. with a costume, $50 for VIP tickets, $10 for 21 and up, $15 for 18 and up. 2513 Main St., Dallas

VNYL in The Shops at Legacy will host a Halloween concert featuring the popular local 80s tribute band Awesome Sauce on Oct. 31. There is no cover and doors open at 7 p.m. 5800 Legacy Dr suite c-11, Plano

The W Dallas-Victory Hotel is the site for the “W Dallas Rooftop Halloween Masquerade” on Oct. 31. The costume party will take place in Altitude, which sits 33 floors above Dallas, and will include complimentary Halloween party favors and a private VIP area. The club will also host the “Haunted W Dallas Rooftop Halloween Costume Ball” on Oct. 27. 2440 Victory Park Lane, Dallas.
