Talk about short notice: Blake Shelton will play a free “pop-up” concert this Thursday at Billy Bob’s Texas, the country singer and “Voice” coach announced Monday morning via Facebook.
Expect some craziness.
It’s free, but you’ll need a wristband to get in. Fans can start lining up for wristbands at 10 a.m. Thursday, and wristbands are first-come, first-serve.
Doors for the 21-and-up show will open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and the show begins at 8:30 — early for a Billy Bob’s show.
Shelton is making appearances on behalf of Smithworks American Made Vodka, which is based in Arkansas and, according to its website, “made with water from Lake Fort Smith, and with corn from Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.”
Shelton, of course, has a long history with Billy Bob’s.
“We have a relationship with him that dates back to the year 2000,” says Pam Minick, vice president of marketing for Billy Bob’s. “He’s performed here since he had a mullet. We’re thrilled that he chose Billy Bob’s because he knew our team could facilitate a pop up show at the last minute.”
In June, Shelton and his significant other Gwen Stefani swung through Fort Worth for a friend’s wedding. Minick says she doesn’t know whether Stefani will be along this time.
