Social Eyes by Faye Reeder

New information about getting publicity for your group — and farewell wishes

Today I am signing off as your Social Eyes reporter. This will be my last column as I leave the Star-Telegram. Please take note of new information about how non-profits and arts, civic and education groups can continue to engage with the newspaper for your fundraising events and community initiatives.

News Coverage

Please continue to request coverage of your events and programs in the Star-Telegram and in the weekly papers. Send your press releases and pitches to the addresses listed below. They won’t be able to say yes to every request, but I’m sure they will do their best to cover what is possible. and

Photo Submissions

Be on the lookout in the Star-Telegram for new instructions on submitting photos shot at nonprofit and charitable events. Plans are underway for creating a new process for photo submissions.

Thanks for the memories

It has been a privilege and honor to cover the nonprofit scene in Tarrant County, and I thank you for reading my column. It has been a wonderful run, and I couldn't have done it without you. So, here’s a big virtual hug to all the dedicated, hardworking volunteers and staff who keep our nonprofit organizations running. What you do makes a difference.

I wish I could name all the people I've written about and drawn from over the past 19 years. Whether we connected at your gala, fundraiser, parade, market or festival, or your expo, 5K, show, concert or tournament, or perhaps an exhibit, party or open house, I’m thankful to have been the agent for the Star-Telegram’s support of your organizations. You have inspired me every day.

As my next chapter unfolds, I’ll still be around on all the social spaces any time you want to nudge me to engage with your social media posts about upcoming events. I’ll be cheering for each and every event as I see your ads and promotions and wish everyone continued success.
