Summer’s no time for a serious shoe, and these cloth Mary Jane-style Chocolaticas combine color, comfort and clever designs to make you smile with every step. Which is why they’ve been a bestseller since the day they arrived at Van Grow Art Studio, a charming cottage in west Fort Worth that specializes in art classes for all ages and paint-your-own pottery. Hanna Vanderstoel, who co-owns Van Grow with her husband, Maarten, fell in love with these unique kicks the moment she saw them, and she immediately contacted the Venezuelan company to organize importing the shoes to Fort Worth. She knew the designs would be a hit, especially since they come in sizes ranging from toddler to adult. She also loved that the shoes are comfortable, machine-washable and durable, with a thick yet flexible rubber sole. In fact, the shoes inspired Vanderstoel to devote an entire nook of the studio to art-related retail she’s dubbed “Gogh Shopping” that will feature an array of merchandise, including festively packaged gift certificates perfect for any special occasion. Adult sizes are $55, children’s sizes $45. 3434 W. Seventh St., Fort Worth, 817-348-0505, www.vangrowstudio.com.
