Holiday ornaments are popular collectibles. There are ornaments designed to be specific to the year, or new for a collecting category. Many ornament collectors are so loyal to one manufacturer or one theme, they form collectible clubs. People also collect by color or theme, so the manufacturers attempt to satisfy all their collectors with a new entry in each category. When an anniversary year is reached, the ornament for that occasion is truly lavish, such as Jay Strongwater’s beautiful ruby globe covered in white butterflies for his 20th year of ornament making.

These ornaments are so elaborate, they shame the outer wrappings. To keep up with the ornaments on the Christmas tree, what goes under it needs a bit more than paper and ribbon. Gift wrap that does justice to the ornaments needs excessive embellishment, and with the ornaments of Jay Strongwater, Christopher Radko and Patricia Breen, a whole lot of additional bling. Here are some of the seasonal ornaments for 2015 and the wrappings they inspired.
