Grand Prairie man killed in Christmas Eve crash

A Grand Prairie motorist was killed Christmas Eve when he lost control of the pickup he was driving and crashed, Grand Prairie police said.

The Tarrant County medical examiner's office identified the victim as Donald H. Freeland, 43, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was reported about 3:35 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Avenue K in northwest Grand Prairie.

Freeland was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup when he lost control of the vehicle on wet pavement, left the roadway and overturned.

The crash remained under investigation.

It was the 17th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.
