Texas 360 in Arlington to be shut down for bridge demolition

Both directions of Texas 360 will be reduced to one lane and detoured off the freeway this weekend in Arlington, to make way for the demolition of the old Division Street railroad bridge.

The closure is weather permitting, and will occur between 8 p.m. Friday and 5 a .m. Monday, a Texas Department of Transportation official said. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.

Southbound traffic will be detoured at Division Street, and diverted to Stadium Drive. Northbound motorists will exit at Abram Street, and diverted to Great Southwest Parkway. The detours likely will cause delays of several minutes.

The work is part of an ongoing, $56 million intersection makeover that includes new automotive and railroad bridges at Division Street.

Better shoulders, ramps and continuous frontage roads are being built along Texas 360, too.
