With half-price and spring break, Wednesday may be a record-breaker at zoo

There's a good chance that today will be a record-breaker at the Fort Worth Zoo.

It's half-price Wednesday during spring break, and the zoo also recently opened the Museum of Living Art.

So expect big crowds. More than 23,000 people visited the zoo last spring break on half-price Wednesday.

If you want to avoid the traffic jam on University Drive -- and make no mistake, it will be packed -- you can take the Fort Worth Transportation Authority's Safari Shuttle.

Here's how to ride:

Catch the shuttle at the Intermodal Transportation Center, 1001 Jones St. in Fort Worth. The service operates every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Cost: $3 round trip for adults, $1.50 for children and seniors (free for kids under 5). It's free for those who ride in on the Trinity Railway Express -- just show your train ticket.
