'Liv' it up with these fashion dolls

LIV Dolls and Accessories

Best for ages:
5 and up

Targeting girls six to ten, the Liv fashion doll line features four teen friends. Each with their own distinct personality and look. Alexis has a flare for fashion, Daniela's passion is performing, Katie loves to skateboard and Sophie is a stylist at heart. Each doll ($19.99) comes with fashion accessories, two wigs and one exclusive online access code for livworld.com. Accessories including clothing and wigs are available and range from $5.99 to $19.99 each.

What parents will like: The dolls and clothing are tasteful and age appropriate. The message encouraging girls to have their own personality and sense of style helps parents teach the importance of self image and "being yourself". After seeing the commercial and relating to Katie (the skateboarder), this is the first doll our six-year-old "tomboy" has asked to buy. Even our three-year-old has a blast changing Alexis' hair and clothes over and over again.

What kids will like: Each doll sports a pixie haircut, making it easy for the youngest of users to change hairstyles. The 14 point articulation offers multiple realistic poses. Many accessory options ($5.99 to $19.99) and the online component provide hours of imaginative play.

Good to know: Don't get discouraged when registering for livworld.com. It took us a while to find a username that was available.
