Kelly Clarkson ... political commentator?

All right, so that’s a stretch, but the Fort Worth-born and Burleson-bred pop superstar is getting kudos for her elegant dismantling of an online troll after First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech earlier this week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

After a user by the name of @coffeebeansrock (whose account has since been deleted) grumbled about Mrs. Obama’s reference to the White House being built by slaves, Clarkson retorted:

Maybe if presidential nominee Hillary Clinton needs an advocate on the campaign trail, she could hit up Clarkson?

The singer is currently working on her next album, her first for Atlantic Records, which is due out next year.
