Sara Evans at Billy Bob’s Texas
Last year was a busy one for country vocalist Sara Evans. She released her seventh studio album, Slow Me Down, in March, squeezed in some touring (including a fall date performing with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra) and closed out 2014 with her debut Christmas album, At Christmas. Now the Missouri native turns her attention to the road once more. Already booked for the Stagecoach Festival in April, Evans brings her polished country-pop to Billy Bob’s, just one stop on a cross-country tour stretching into the summer.
10:30 p.m. Saturday. Billy Bob’s Texas, Fort Worth. $16-$40.
Robyn Hitchcock at Kessler Theater
British troubadour Robyn Hitchcock has enjoyed the sort of itinerant career that endears him to music critics and has cemented his status as a cult favorite. The singer-songwriter has kept up a steady stream of well-received albums, the most recent being 2014’s The Man Upstairs, which paired five original tunes with five covers from an eclectic assortment of artists (from Roxy Music to the Doors). Catching him in DFW’s coziest listening room will prove quite the treat indeed. With Emma Swift.
7:30 p.m. Sunday. Kessler Theater, Dallas. $20-$30.
