About a year ago we purchased a couple of insulated zip-up bags that keep cold foods cold, and hot dishes hot, for up to two hours. The extreme drought and wildfires of 2010 has caught everyone's attention. Despite recent rains, La Nina and the drought are forecast to continue into the early summer of 2011. With the dry weather comes the threat of wildfires. This leaves us are wondering what long term impact this will have. Rickey Linex, National Research Conservation Service (NRCS) wildlife biologist, will address the drought and wildfire impacts on native plants at the Cross Timbers Chapter of the Native Plant Society Meeting on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at Harberger Hill Community Center, 701 Narrow Street in Weatherford.Read more
