About the candidate: Mahanay is president of a nonprofit organization, Community Gas Lease Holdouts. "I feel like the city needs to educate our citizens to seek legal advice before they sign a lease," he said.

About the candidate: Norwood supports the mayor's youth council's goals of getting young people involved with activities. "I lived in Burleson as a teenager," he said. "I used to get in trouble a lot. I was involved in drinking too much."

Background: A graduate of Bartlett High School, Wilson retired as a tech sergeant after serving 22 years in the U.S. Air Force.
About the candidate: Wilson said he wants to make sure emergency responders are trained to handle gas well emergencies. He is concerned about a recent election that allows beer and wine sales in grocery and convenience stores for off-premises consumption, saying it may increase the risks and effects to families in terms of drunken drivers. "I am a Christian; that is my foundation," he said.
