On the road again

Where are North Texans going this fall and how are they getting there? As part of its Fall Travel Trends Survey, Travel Leaders (formerly Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates) posed those questions to its agents in the Metroplex. What they found:

In 2009 are travelers driving to their destination(s) more or less than last year?

Somewhat more — 51.4 percent

About the same — 32.4 percent

Significantly less — 8.1 percent

Somewhat less — 5.4 percent

Significantly more — 2.7 percent

For clients who choose to drive, where are they driving?

Within Texas — 73.7 percent

Arkansas — 34.2 percent

Farther than a neighboring state — 31.6 percent

Oklahoma — 23.7 percent

Louisiana — 21.1 percent

I don’t know —13.2 percent

New Mexico — 10.5 percent
