Five people hurt in early-morning wreck in east Fort Worth

Five people were hurt early Monday in a two-vehicle wreck on westbound Texas 183, south of the DFW Airport in far east Fort Worth, according to reports.

The wreck was reported at about 8:05 a.m., a police report stated.

The wreckage was cleared by mid-morning, according according to data from the Texas Department of Transportation.

Initial reports indicated that it was between a red van and a silver van on the highway, also called Airport Freeway.

Three ambulances responded and two injured people were taken from the scene, a MedStar spokeswoman said.

By late morning, however, that number was updated to reflect five people injured, the MedStar spokeswoman said.

No other information was immediately available.
