Voters in Southern Denton and Northeast Tarrant communities can cast ballots in several city and school races on May 8.

Beginning as early as Feb. 5 for some races, candidates may begin filing for several seats on Trophy Club, Westlake and Haslet city councils, as well as Westlake Academy and Northwest school boards. Filing ends March 8.Read more

Northwest District Maps Out Next 5 Years

Before Northwest ISD trustees began discussing reports of the district's five-year plan for vision and financial planning, they unanimously gave a vote of confidence in Superintendent Karen Rue by voting to extend her contract by another year. Rue's salary is $215,812. with her last raise of 3.5 percent taking effect July 1.
