What Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips had to say after the Cowboys’ 20-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, plus what he could have said:

On being in first place alone in the NFC East:

What Wade said: “We’re still only 1-1 in division. We are leading the division right now, but we’re only 1-1. We’ve got four more division games.”

What Wade could have said: “But two of those games are against Washington, so they don’t really count.”

On Roy Williams:

What Wade said: “He’s a big target. He can really catch the football.”

What Wade could have said: “You guys only get to see him in games, but if you were at our practices, you’d see for yourself that he can really catch the football.”
