With the World Series over, the Texas Rangers are ready to make some news. They will introduce Clint Hurdle as their new hitting coach today. The decision to hire Hurdle was reached Tuesday, though an offer wasn’t extended until Wednesday. The announcement was delayed as the Rangers obliged the standing request from Major League Baseball that no significant news break on World Series game days.
