The road to “The World’s Richest One Day Rodeo” will again begin in Fort Worth in 2018.
The American will be held Feb. 25, 2018 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The semifinals will be Feb. 20-24 at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth.
In the 2017 semifinals, Kelsey Lutjen won $56,067.36 in barrel racing. Steer wrestler Rowdy Parrott won $21,168 and tie-down roper Timber Moore took home $50,940.51.
Tickets to the semifinals are on sale now. They start at $10 and can be purchased at www.stockyardsRodeo.com.
There’s also a special ticket offer for The American finals. Standard ticket prices ranged from $10 to $150.
From Black Friday thru Cyber Monday, fans can buy one ticket and get one free to The American finals. To buy tickets, go to AmericanRodeo.com and enter the code AM2018. This offer excludes $500 “Elite Seats”
Three competitors each earned a $433,333 check after clinching rodeo event titles at The American finals in 2017. They were bull rider Sage Kimzey, saddle bronc rider Cody DeMoss and barrel racer Hailey Kinsel. The American offered competitors a $2 million purse, a record payoff for a single performance rodeo. Kimzey, DeMoss and Kinsel each were eligible for a share of a $1million side pot within the $2 million purse.
