Cornerback Morris Claiborne will miss Thursday’s practice with a sore tendon in his right knee.
The Dallas Cowboys cornerback suffered the injury late in Wednesday’s practice, going up for a ball. It is not considered serious at this point and he is not expected to miss much time.
“My feet just got stuck in the ground, cleats got stuck in the ground … twisted,” Claiborne said.
Claiborne has been one of the better players early on in camp, in owner Jerry Jones’ mind. Claiborne intercepted a pass from Tony Romo earlier in Wednesday’s session and has shown a better approach from Day 1.
Claiborne, the sixth overall pick in the 2012 draft, has not lived up to his hype so far in his young career and has battled injuries his first two seasons.
Sterling Moore took first team snaps when Claiborne went down with the injury.
The Cowboys are already short-handed in the secondary with cornerback Brandon Carr missing camp to date to deal with his ailing mother, who passed away Wednesday. It’s unknown when Carr will return.
