OXNARD, Calif. While there has been a ton of talk early in training camp about the Dallas Cowboys working on new deals for tackle Tyron Smith and receiver Dez Bryant, all has been quiet on the DeMarco Murray front.

Murray is in the final year of his rookie deal.

Vice-president Stephen Jones readily acknowledges talks are ongoing with Smith and Bryant, but said no extension was forthcoming for Murray.

Jones said they were just going to let things play out with Murray. There will be no talks with his agent about a new contract until after the season.

Murray, in his fourth year out of Oklahoma, would have it no other way. Murray is coming off his first Pro Bowl season and a career-high 1,121 yards and nine touchdowns. He rushed for 693 yards and six touchdowns over the final eight games last year and plans to build on that success to a new contract in 2014.

"It's not a big deal at all," Murray said. "You get what you put in and that's what I plan on doing. I plan on having a good team year. I plan on having a good individual year as well.”

He knows if the Cowboys finally live up to their promises of committing to the running game, a long-term commitment to him will be forthcoming.
