As a way to get away from the books during finals week last spring, Cowboys rookie quarterback Dustin Vaughan made a humorous parody film showcasing his “athletic” ability.
The film went viral and gained more notoriety once Vaughan joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M. Vaughan has no intentions of becoming an actor and is focused on making an NFL team. But he is an avid moviegoer and listed his top-five films.
His top five movies:
1 Braveheart. “I love the plot in general. Mel Gibson was absolutely amazing in the movie, and I just like fighting, intense movies.”
2 Gladiator. “Same thing as Braveheart. I like when you go back in time and history and see these kinds of movies. The director made you feel hatred towards the guy who was putting the gladiator under such distress and made you love the gladiator. It’s just cool how the movie took you through that ride.”
3 Remember the Titans. “Football. Denzel Washington. I just think it’s a classic movie, and I love Denzel as an actor.”
4 Due Date. “Funny movie with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. They’re just absolutely hilarious in the movie.”
5 Shooter. “Marky Mark [Mark Wahlberg] is great, man. And I like the aspect of a sniper being able to make things happen from miles away. It was awesome how they put that story together and how it started and ended.”
X-rays for Claiborne
Cornerback Morris Claiborne is the latest to join a growing list of players on the injury report. He “twisted” his right knee during Wednesday afternoon’s practice.
Claiborne was scheduled to undergo X-rays on it and owner Jerry Jones did not know if he would require an MRI. Jones felt optimistic because trainer Jim Maurer didn’t express the same level of concern as he did Tuesday with defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence.
