About the Mavericks: This is the final of a four-game road trip for the Mavs, who open a three-game homestand Saturday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Mavs are 2-1 on this trip following Monday’s 112-97 loss in Sacramento against the short-handed Kings. ... Since Monta Ellis signed with Dallas over the summer, this is his first time playing in the city where his career started in 2005 as a second-round draft choice of the Warriors. ... Ellis had his worst game of the season in the Mavs’ 103-99 win over Golden State on Nov. 27 when he scored four points on 2-of-16 shooting. ... Shane Larkin tallied 10 points and three steals in 11 minutes against the Kings.

About the Warriors: This is the opener of a two-game homestand for the Warriors, who finished a 1-2 road trip on Monday with a 115-111 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Stephen Curry scored a season-high 43 points against the Bobcats, Klay Thompson tallied 22, and David Lee contributed 14 points and 16 rebounds. ... One of the league’s best shooters, Curry averages 22.5 points and 8.9 assists per game. Thompson averages 20.9 points. Lee averages 17 points and nine rebounds while Harrison Barnes averages 13.3 points. ... The Warriors lead the league in 3-point shooting (42.7 percent) and are fourth in field-goal shooting (46.9 percent).
