No real surprises among the Cowboys inactives for tonight’s game against the Giants.
As expected, newly acquired running back Christine Michael is not ready for game action. The Cowboys acquired the former Texas A&M product earlier this week, and knew it was a long shot for him to be ready to go tonight.
Other inactives included rookie guard La’el Collins, tackle Jordan Mills, tight end Geoff Swaim and defensive linemen Davon Coleman, Ken Bishop and Ryan Russell.
Collins joined the Cowboys as a candidate to push Ronald Leary for the starting left guard job, but nothing really came of that competition. For now, they are committed with Mackenzy Bernadeau as the reserve interior lineman.
The other inactives were fairly understandable. The Cowboys like Swaim, the University of Texas product, but do not need four tight ends on game day.
And D-line is an area of depth, and they still have plenty of rotation pieces starting tonight with those three inactives.
