How many TCU, DFW high school players are on NFL playoff rosters this weekend?
Plenty of Dallas-area players will take the field for the second round of the NFL Playoffs this weekend. They just won’t be members of the Cowboys.
In total, nine players from TCU or DFW high schools will be on six of the eight NFL playoff rosters during divisional weekend action.
Tennessee Titans
LB Josh Carraway (Flower Mound Marcus, Class of 2017); Two-time first-team All-Big 12 conference selection (2015, 2016) at TCU. First-team All-District 8-5A.
New England Patriots
OT Marcus Cannon (TCU, Class of 2011); First-team All-Mountain West conference selection (2010) at TCU. First-team All-District at Odessa High School.
DT Adam Butler (Duncanville High School, Class of 2012); Two-time first-team 5A All-District selection. Three-year starter at Vanderbilt.
Pittsburgh Steelers
K Chris Boswell (Keller Fossil Ridge High School, Class of 2009); First-team Class 5A All-State in 2008. Four-year starter and Groza Award semifinalist at Rice.
New Orleans Saints
QB Chase Daniel (Southlake Carroll, Class of 2004); First-team All-State selection won two state titles and was a two-time Heisman finalist at Missouri (2007, 2008).
RB Jonathan Williams (Allen, Class of 2012); Over 3,500 career rushing yards at Allen. AP All-SEC second team during his junior year at Arkansas.
LS Zach Wood (Rowlett High School, Class of 2011); A 2010 Class 4A All-State honorable mention selection at defensive tackle. Three-year starter at SMU.
Minnesota Vikings
OT Aviante Collins (TCU, Class of 2016); Three-year starter at TCU. Attended Houston Willowridge High School.
Philadelphia Eagles
OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai (TCU Class of 2016); Two-time second-team All-Big 12 selection (2014, 2015). Attended Haltom High School.
