Mavericks at Celtics
5 p.m. Sunday, TD Garden, Boston
Radio: ESPN/103.3 FM, KFLC/1270 AM (Spanish)
Records: Mavs 30-21, Celtics 18-33
About the Mavs: This is the first of a three-game road trip for the Mavs. They’ll also play Charlotte and Indiana on this trip before stopping for the All-Star break. ... The biggest worry going into Sunday’s game is the health of shooting guard Monta Ellis, who strained his right hamstring after scoring a game-high 22 points in Friday’s win over Utah. ... Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points in the win over the Jazz. It was the 18th time this year in which Nowitzki and Ellis have scored at least 20 points in the same game.
About the Celtics: Since losing seven of eight games, Boston has won three in a row. That includes Friday night when Jared Sullinger scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in 33 minutes during a 99-89 triumph over the Sacramento Kings. ... Rajon Rondo (soreness) and Avery Bradley (ankle) missed the Kings game. Rondo had played in eight games since missing almost a year with a torn ACL. Bradley has missed six of the past eight games. ... The Celtics have struggled under first-year coach Brad Stevens. ... Boston is 1-5 in the last six meetings against Dallas. But the last time the Mavs were in Boston, the Celtics outlasted them 117-115 in double overtime on Dec. 12, 2012. — Dwain Price
