Adrian Beltre drove in five runs with a homer and a double as the Rangers beat the Mariners 7-3 Friday night at Globe Life Park.
Pitching: Yu Darvish allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five. Tony Barnette replaced him with one on in the sixth and got the final out to end the inning. Darvish struck out five and earned his second win. Barnette pitched a scoreless seventh before Jake Diekman pitched a perfect eighth. Sam Dyson pitched a scoreless ninth to close it out.
Hitting: Adrian Beltre had five RBI in the first three innings, including a three-run homer in the first to lead the Rangers’ offense. He also had a two-run double in the third. Ian Desmond was 4 for 5 with a double and two runs. The top four Rangers in the lineup were a combined 10 for 16 with seven RBI and seven runs.
Notable: Beltre’s double in the third was the 573rd of his career, the 24th most of all-time ... Desmond was 4 for 5 with a double. He joins Bobby Wilson as the only Rangers player with four hits in a game in 2016 ... 32,395 was the paid attendance.
