Ryan Cordell could be hottest hitter in the Texas Rangers organization at the moment.
The Double A Frisco outfielder leads the Texas League in nearly every offensive category through 18 games.
Cordell, who was an 11th round pick in the 2013 draft, has a 13-game hit streak and has hit safely in 17 of 18 games. He has 14 extra-base hits and 11 singles and leads the league with 50 total bases. About the only stat he doesn’t lead is hits and he’s second with 25, one behind the leader.
Cordell, 24, played in 12 major league games during spring training, batting .320 with a homer and three doubles.
