The Rangers have called up left-handed pitcher Ryan Feierabend from Round Rock. He’s a candidate to start Sunday’s finale before the All-Star break.
Feierabend (8-5) had a 4.54 ERA in 113 innings this season. Scott Baker (0-2) is another option to start on Sunday.
Injured outfielder Engel Beltre is being removed from his rehab assignment to work on agility drills. It’ll momentarily stop his rehab clock over the break, but he’ll most likely return to his rehab assignment after the break.
Feierabend hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2008. He’d be the Rangers’ 50th player used in 2014 and 30th pitcher.
