Ron Washington isn’t going to tell Colby Lewis not to swing the bat tonight.
Washington is only going to inform the veteran right-hander who underwent hip-resurfacing surgery to avoid sliding and going all-out on the base paths. Washington hopes Lewis is only needed to drop down sacrifice bunts, but said Lewis will be allowed to swing away if the situation presents itself.
Lewis is making his 24th appearance (16th start) in interleague play and is 5 for 20 (.250) with a double and four RBIs at the plate.
