ARLINGTON Rougned Odor, the Rangers’ top prospect, will make his major league debut Thursday against Colorado, starting at second base and batting eighth.

At 20 years, 94 days, Odor will be the youngest to play in the majors this season. He was the youngest player in the Texas League.

The Rangers hope that Odor will be an upgrade offensively at second base, which has been held down by Josh Wilson and Donnie Murphy this season as the club waits for Jurickson Profar to be recover from a torn shoulder muscle.

Odor had hit in nine straight games for Double A Frisco to overcome a slow start. A .421 stretch during his hitting streak had lifted his average to .279. He hit six homers.
