ANAHEIM, Calif. Shin-Soo Choo was in the Texas Rangers’ lineup Saturday after being day after being removed after seven innings because of soreness in his sprained left ankle, and Robinson Chirinos was back at catcher a day after dealing with a suspected case of food poisoning.

Choo said that he will likely be dealing with the ankle for a few more weeks, but he also said that the five-plus games he missed because of it are all the off days he wants to take this season. He said that the ankle felt better Saturday morning and was good enough to play left field.

Manager Ron Washington, meanwhile, expects that Choo will get more days at designated hitter than he would like until the ankle is no longer a concern.
