Michael Choice was the choice to replace Shin-Soo Choo atop the Texas Rangers’ lineup because manager Ron Washington wanted to keep as much continuity in the batting order as possible. Washington likes the roll the offense is on, and he likes the versatility he has with Elvis Andrus batting second and Leonys Martin eighth, especially against a left-hander.
The lineup could see a shakeup with a right-hander on the mound. Martin could be a possibility. But for Tuesday night, the first with out Choo, Choice was the choice to bat first against Oakland lefty Tommy Milone.
Rangers lineup vs. LHP Tommy Milone: Michael Choice, lf; Elvis Andrus, ss; Alex Rios, rf; Prince Fielder, 1b; Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3b; Donnie Murphy, dh; Robinson Chirinos, c; Leonys Martin, cf; Josh Wilson, 2b.
A’s lineup vs. RHP Nick Martinez: Coco Crisp, cf; Jed Lowrie, ss; Josh Donaldson, 3b; Brandon Moss, 1b; Yoenis Cespedes, lf; Alberto Callaspo, dh; John Jaso, c; Josh Reddick, rf; Eric Sogard, 2b.
