The Rangers completed a trade with the Mariners to acquire right-hander Hector Noesi in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later on Saturday.

Noesi will join the Rangers bullpen as a long reliever and the team is hopeful a change of scenery is what the 27-year-old needed. Noesi made the Mariners’ Opening Day roster and allowed three runs over two appearances before being designated for assignment on April 4. He has a career 5.64 ERA over four seasons with the New York Yankees (2011) and the Mariners (2012-14).

“Durable, good arm, big-time strike thrower,” general manager Jon Daniels said. “He threw the ball well this spring. We’ll see how it plays out.”

To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the Rangers transferred Jurickson Profar to the 60-day disabled list. They’ll have to make another move whenever Noesi joins the active roster.

• Matt Harrison is scheduled to make another medical rehabilitation start for Double A Frisco at Little Rock on Sunday. He will be on a five-inning, 80-pitch limit and could be ready to return to the big leagues by April 23.
• As of now, Daniels expects Profar (torn teres major muscle in right shoulder) and catcher Geovany Soto (surgery on meniscus in right knee) to be ready at some point in June.
• MercyMe, a Christian rock band, will play a postgame concert Sunday. Field passes for the concert will be available for $12.
