Manager Ron Washington has decided that it’s time to start giving his second basemen consecutive starts, and Donnie Murphy is first up.

Murphy was in the Rangers’ lineup Monday to open a three-game series at Fenway Park after being the only player to collect multiple hits Sunday in a 3-0 win at Tampa Bay.

Josh Wilson, who had three hits Friday, will start the next two games, said Washington.

“I’m going to use those guys equally,” Washington said. “I’m going to keep them both engaged.”

Washington said that the right-handed-hitting Michael Choice will start Tuesday against Boston left-hander Felix Doubront. Lefty-hitting DH Mitch Moreland will sit, and Choice is likely to play the outfield.
