. Michael Choice will make his first start of 2014 on Saturday, and he will do so in right field.

Manager Ron Washington put the Arlington resident in right field, giving Alex Rios a quasi-day off as the Rangers’ designated hitter. The left-handed-hitting Mitch Moreland will sit against Tampa Bay ace lefty David Price.

Washington said that he would prefer to keep Choice, a rookie, out of the DH spot, but he also doesn’t want to limit the number of playing chances for the former Mansfield Timberview and UT-Arlington star.

“However I’ve got to get his at-bats is fine with me,” Washington said. “I don’t think you’ll see a whole of him DH-ing.”
