Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish threw only 12 pitches in his first spring training start Thursday before being replaced with tightness in his right triceps.
The Rangers said it’s not considered serious and that Darvish came out before getting close to his 35-pitch count or two innings of work as a precautionary measure. He’ll be evaluated by Dr. Keith Meister Friday morning.
Darvish missed the last month of the 2014 season after experiencing arm soreness.
