Josh Wilson has been a baseball nomad. He’s played on eight big-league teams the past nine years.
He’s trying to add another destination to his road map this spring as one of the candidates for the Texas Rangers’ utility infielder job. He spent part of last season with Arizona, along with stops in the big leagues with Milwaukee and Arizona (2011); Seattle (2010); Arizona, San Diego and Seattle (2009); Washington and Tampa Bay (2007) and Miami (2005).
Wilson, a Pittsburgh native and resident, has enjoyed all of his stops. But here are three of his favorites:• Seattle: “Just the city, a great place to live. In the summertime, it’s not too cold, not too hot. And it’s just very scenic with the mountains, Puget Sound, Lake Washington. It’s just a pretty place.”
• St. Petersburg: “What made it for me was the beach. I had a condo basically on the water and the off days were great, always had something to do. I’m a beach guy and like that lifestyle of being laid-back and relaxed.”
• Washington D.C.: “The people you get to meet are awesome. I sat with Ethel Kennedy during the season-opening event, so that was a unique experience. I don’t know how on earth I was lucky enough to get picked to sit with her.”

Words of Wash
“We’re going to win more than we’re going to lose. That’s for sure.”
He said it
“I put a little effort into it. It definitely feels stretched out. I didn’t overdo it. Let it go a little bit.” — Matt Harrison after long-toss session
