Keller built a three-run lead then withstood a late Plano East rally to beat the Panthers 4-3 in Game 3 of a Class 6A Region I semifinal softball series Saturday at Argyle High School.
The Indians (28-6) move to the regional final against Plano West, which swept El Paso Coronado.
Indians sophomore center fielder Amanda Desario led off the bottom of the first with a home run to right, and three batters later Keller led 2-0 after an RBI sacrifice fly by Katie Dietrich.
Plano East scored a run in the top of the third on a Keller error. The Indians made it a 3-1 lead after Camryn Woodall’s RBI double in the bottom of the third.

Desario’s fourth-inning RBI single gave Keller a 4-1 lead. Plano East scored twice in the sixth before Keller starter Dylann Kaderka forced a groundout to second base with runners on second and third.
Keller meets Plano West in a rematch from last year’s regional quarterfinals. The Indians won that series in three games.
Forney 7, Mansfield Lake Ridge 5: The Jackrabbits scored three in the fourth inning then hung on in Game 3 of a 5A Region II semifinal series at Rockwall.
In the regional final, Forney will face The Colony, which swept Mansfield Legacy.
Tatum Stover’s RBI single in the first inning gave Forney a 1-0 lead. The Jackrabbits led 2-0 on a sacrifice fly in the second by Makensie Miller.
Lake Ridge (23-8) cut the deficit in half with an RBI single from Kate Tovar in the third, but Forney scored three times in the fourth, capped off by Hannah Holdbook’s RBI single. Forney led 7-2 after a two-run home run from Caroline Tedder in the fifth.
The Eagles enjoyed their best season in program history with their first playoff berth.
Grapevine 5, Aledo 2: London Green’s two-run single in the second inning put the defending 5A state champs ahead for good and the Mustangs went on to win Game 3 of a 5A Region I quarterfinal series at White Settlement Brewer.
The Mustangs (29-8) will face Amarillo in the regional semifinals. Amarillo swept Lubbock Coronado.
Joseph Leal scored on an error and Green’s two RBIs gave Grapevine a 3-0 lead in the second.
Aledo (25-11) got within 3-2 on a two-run single by Gehrig Mosiello. Grapevine also got RBIs by Nick Pierce and Connor Neuman. Boone Montgomery struck out five batters in six innings, and Chance McClure got the save for the Mustangs.
Colleyville Heritage 9, Justin Northwest 0: Cameron Ehringer and Isaiah Alvarenga combined to throw a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as the Panthers won Game 3 of a 5A Region I quarterfinal series at UT Arlington.
The Panthers (34-4) advance to their first regional semifinals since 2006 to play Canyon Randall, which swept Abilene Cooper.
Heritage took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI walk by Bobby Witt Jr., and 3-0 in the second on a two-run single by Nick Balsano. Jacob Guerrero’s RBI single and Witt Jr.’s two-run home run made it 8-0 in the fourth.
Ehringer struck out six in six innings, and Alvarenga struck out all three batters in the seventh.
