Mansfield safety Cam’Ron Jones, a Nebraska signee, was one of the most highly recruited of the just over 115 student athletes from the Mansfield ISD that participated in the National Signing Day Recognition event held Wednesday at the Mansfield Performing Arts Center.
“Today just felt unreal,” said Jones who is ranked 289th in the nation for every player, the 23rd ranked safety, and 36th in the state overall. “It’s a dream come true after I finally signed my letter of intent with Nebraska.”
“If you love football, like I do, Nebraska is probably the best place you could play at. Ninety-five thousand fans at home games and then in a conference where you play Ohio State and at the Big House against Michigan...the atmosphere is just amazing.”
