TCU men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon will get a high-profile debut for his inaugural Big 12 conference game at his alma mater this season. Dixon’s team will open against Kansas, the 12-time defending league champion, Dec. 30 on national television (ESPN2) in Fort Worth.
TCU will begin conference play with a two-game home stand at Schollmaier Arena that includes a Jan. 3 appearance against Oklahoma, a Final Four team last season, before making the first road trip of the season, Jan. 7 at West Virginia.
In all, 16 of the Horned Frogs’ 18 league games will be shown on an ESPN-affiliated network (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, Longhorn Network), with two others on Fox Sports Net. For the season, 11 games will be national telecasts on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.
The Big 12 slate finalizes a schedule that includes 13 nonconference games, including 10 home dates in Fort Worth. TCU opens the season Nov. 11 against the University of St. Thomas in Fort Worth.
