With bags packed and spirits high, the TCU Horned Frogs baseball team departed early Thursday morning for the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., the final destination of a remarkable season.
This is the rare road trip that gets better as it gets longer.
TCU (47-16) opens the eight-team, double-elimination tournament Sunday at 2 p.m. against Texas Tech (45-19) on ESPN2.
Texas (43-19) is also in the tournament, making the Big 12, and the Lone Star State, responsible for nearly half the field. The Frogs’ only other College World Series visit was in 2010 when they were eliminated after five games.
